For nearly 23 years, Epley Research and Consulting has helped clients gain a deeper understanding of customers. We offer highly specialized research tools and methods, all of which reflect a singular commitment to knowing what lies beneath the surface of people's thoughts and actions.
What we do is unique. Companies even use the term “Epley study” to refer to a certain type of research project for which we are well suited…difficult, customized research that requires a lot of thought or needs an extra step or two. In many cases, we are asked to look beneath the surface of problems almost all companies have, e.g. lost sales opportunities, dissatisfied customers, lost customers. Many of our studies deal with highly specialized audiences such as national accounts, brokers, or strategic partners. We are particularly well suited to studies of complex business relationships or multi-stage sales transactions.
Our team consists of experienced researchers, highly skilled in active listening and capable of engaging your customers in an intense, yet conversational, dialogue--the results of which contain a depth and richness that is genuinely striking to clients who are experiencing our work for the first time.
Our president, Stephen W. Epley, founded the company in 1987. Steve began his career as a professor after earning his doctorate in psychology from the University of Iowa. Epley’s current methodology and practices are strongly influenced by Steve’s background as professor and psychologist.
